From its launch until the end of 2016, Insuficiencia Cardiaca was published on a quarterly basis, with four issues released each year. Beginning in 2017, the Journal adopted a monthly publication schedule, publishing twelve issues per year. This increased publication frequency was implemented to accommodate the growing volume of high-quality submissions and to facilitate the timely dissemination of research in cardiology and cardiovascular medicine. Starting in 2024, Insuficiencia Cardiaca transitioned to a continuous publication model. Under this model, articles are published online immediately after acceptance, copy-editing, and typesetting, rather than waiting for assignment to a scheduled issue. All articles published during a calendar year are grouped within the corresponding annual volume of Insuficiencia Cardiaca. This publication approach significantly reduces publication timelines and ensures that new scientific findings in cardiology, heart failure, and cardiovascular medicine become available to readers as rapidly as possible.
