Aim & Scope

Insuficiencia Cardiaca covers a broad range of topics in cardiology and cardiovascular medicine, with special emphasis on heart failure. The journal welcomes contributions that address:

 

  • Epidemiology, pathophysiology, and natural history of heart failure and cardiomyopathies
  • Risk factors, prevention strategies, and population-based approaches to cardiovascular disease
  • Diagnostic methods, including imaging, biomarkers, and functional testing
  • Pharmacological and non-pharmacological management of heart failure
  • Advanced therapies: device therapy, cardiac resynchronization, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators, mechanical circulatory support, and heart transplantation
  • Acute and chronic heart failure management in outpatient, inpatient, and intensive care settings
  • Comorbidities in heart failure (e.g. renal dysfunction, diabetes, pulmonary hypertension, atrial fibrillation)
  • Cardiovascular nursing, rehabilitation, and patient education
  • Health services research, quality of care, and health economics related to cardiovascular disease
  • Case reports and clinical images that offer relevant educational value

 

The journal publishes original research articles, review articles, clinical guidelines, case reports, brief communications, editorials, and letters to the editor. Manuscripts may be submitted in Spanish or English, and the journal aims to foster communication between clinicians, researchers, and multidisciplinary teams involved in cardiovascular care.
